Carl Schurz Collection
The Carl Schurz Collection contains documents and materials from his time during the Civil War to his death in 1906. Majority of the collection consists of correspondence from Schurz along with provenance correspondance detailing the collecting of Schurz items from 1999-2001. The contents of this collection range from original 19th century documents, to photocopies of items, and to an original 19th century broadside of one of Schurz's speeches.

Daily record (March 26-October 1, 1862), by a native of Quincy, Massachusetts, in the U.S. Army during Virginia peninsula campaigns. Chiefly routine. Mentions the balloon several times. Also includes a furlough document.
Edward D. Edwards Family Papers
Family correspondence, Bible records, property records and documents, concerning the family of Edward D. Edwards (1804-1861) of Choctaw County, Mississippi. Includes two Civil War letters of Knight Edwards (1844-1863), 4th Mississippi Infantry Regiment, Company E (Stephens Guards) to his mother, 1863, from Vicksburg, enslaved persons lists, and lists of damages to property by General Grierson's forces.
