Preservation Note

Papers have been stored in acid-free folders inside acid-free boxes. Newspaper clippings were photocopied on acid-free paper with the originals discarded and any newspaper clippings that remain were stored in separate folders and interleaved with acid-free paper. Full size newspapers that could not be photocopied as well as other oversize items were stored separately in oversize boxes. Photographs were interleaved between acid-free paper. Vellum photographs and negatives were interleaved with buffered, acid-free paper. Rusted paper clips and staples were removed, except in the case of an original binding which was instead stored in a separate folder. Envelopes were plasticlipped to their letters.

Processing Note

This collection was worked on in 2021 and then again in 2022. It was finished in June 2022 by Erin Cain, a graduate assistant in the Manuscripts Department.
