The J. T. McKinnon Lumber Company records concern the operation of a small lumber company, which operated primarily in Clarke, Jasper, and Jones Counties, Mississippi, from 1900 to 1940. Biographical Information

John Thomas McKinnon (1863-1947) married Martha Easterling (1872-1942) in 1895. McKinnon owned and operated the J. T. McKinnon Lumber Company, which was based in Clarke County, Mississippi. The company produced dressed flooring, ceiling, finishing, and car and bridge timbers. The McKinnons had five children: Frederick Albertson McKinnon (1895-1962), John Kenneth McKinnon (1897-1963), Mary Almeda McKinnon Barnes (1898-1956), Louise McKinnon (b.1903), and Mattie Laura McKinnon Allerton (1906-1994).
