Scope and Contents
A bulk of this series represents the photographs of the Bias family, particularly of Mary Gatewood Bias and Elizabeth C. Bias, daughters of Warwick Gatewood and Elizabeth Duncan Bias. Portraits of other family members are also included. Several photos of Black men, women, and children are represented. One photo is of Calvin Duncan, a former enslaved person owned by the Duncan family. Other common themes include images of various field trials, the 1920 Ingamar tornado, and other places. Also included are photographic postcards (no correspondence on back; photographic postcards with correspondence are included in Series 1).
