Dear Doctor McClelland : :
Just wrote Gerald [?] thanking him for sending me a lot of May Heralds. Ere this you have seen the Jackson. Mich. Medal. sent on the 21st
I have practiced on Hy Pratt’s dedication plate to set “my hand in” for the Lincoln portrait on the diploma. I am using the St. [?] statue on his plate. I’ll prove it-up tomorrow. I believe, it is o.k. Then for the big plate. I was disappointed in the ink circulars that came in today. I hope to be in Hartford Monday, when I’ll try to get some dry color in blue.
Enclosed is one of Hy [?] [?] as respecting us. I traveled this afternoon. In fear of renting my house- but I still have my house for myself, and my friends.
I shall be looking for you and Mrs. McClelland in September.
With the accessions to L.M.U Lincolniana you won’t have to talk hard to get a new library. You will need it.
We’re in for rain now- and need it. My deepest regards to you and your family.
Ever Sincerely Yours
Bernhardt
