Records of the Chickasaw and Choctaw Indian Agencies, as collected by archaeologists James R. Atkinson and Jack D. Elliott, Jr. for their research and writing, including projects for the Natchez Trace Parkway. Included are materials from repositories around the United States, including the National Archives, the Arizona Historical Library, Dartmouth University, the Library of Congress and other repositories.

Records are abstracted in two publications by James R. Atkinson: Records of the Old Southwest in the National Archives: Abstracts of Records of the Choctaw Agency and Related Documents, 1794-1832 and Records of the Old Southwest in the National Archives: Abstracts of Records of the Chickasaw Indian Agency and Related Documents, 1794-1840.
