Biographical Note
Dr. George Evans "G.E." Light, born April 26, 1964, was the only child of Dr. Robley J. Light and Jeanne K. Light, of Tallahassee, Florida. He received a BA in History and Litarature from Harvard University in 1985, and a PhD in Shakespeare from Stanford University, and later taught English at Mississippi State University.
Light collected in a variety of areas, including children's literature, books, and fine art. He collected art by artists from the Starkville area and from Mississippi. The Library also holds an extensive book collection donated by Dr. Light's estate following his death in 2019.
