Stiles Family Business Papers
Scope and Contents
The Stiles Family Business Papers are a collection of family correspondence, receipts, tax receipts, and other financial documents related to the Stiles family. The collection dates back to the Civil War, starting in 1862 through 1946. The collections includes: family correspondence from the year 1863-1920; receipts from purchases and housing-related checks spanning 1862-1901; state and federal tax receipts from 1869-1890; check stubs and notes of tax-related payments from 1871-1879; and miscellaneous financial documents from 1920-1946.

The Stiles family is part of an old Oktibbeha county family line consisting of other families through marriage including Hightower, Montgomery, Perkins, and Castles.

These papers were given by Mr. Styles's mother to the late Dr. Armin Von Seutter (of Starkville). Mrs. Von Seutter (now Mrs. Lancaster) is giving them to the library.
