Yale Forest School Masters Degree Program, 1938-39; materials about the Flintkote Company of Meridian,MS, (insulation board mfg) where Nelson was Chief Forester, 1940-1957; Champion International Corporation, 1957-1980; Data about the Mississippi Water Resources Policy Commission and Mississippi Board of Water Commissioners, 1954-57; and manuscript copies of papers and speeches published and given bu Nelson during this time. The collection also includes a quantity of books, some of which have been transferred to the Circulating Collection.

Biographical Note
Arthur William Nelson Jr. was born in Chicago, IL on August 28, 1916. He recieved a BS in Forest Management from the University of Idaho in 1938, and his field experience in his undergraduate education included Minnesota, Idaho, Arizona and Utah. Nelso earned a Master of Forestry degree from Yale Forest School in 1939. After graduation he worked for the Southern Forst Experiment Statiion in Louisiana and Texas, and as a timber cruiser for the Crossett Lumber Company in Crossett, Arkansas. In 1940, Nelson became Chief Forestor at the Flintkote Company in Meridian. He also later served as Superintendant of Plant Protection for Flintkote and Assistant Director of Civil Defense for the city of Meridian. In 1957, Nelson joined Champion Papers, and in 1958 he became General Manager of the Timber Products Division. he was named Vice President - Natural Resources in 1967, and later served as the VP of Industry Affairs. Nelson retired from Champion in September 1980.
