Biographical Note
John E. Mylroie served in the U.S. Navy active duty for one year before joining the U.S. Naval Reserve, sometimes referred to as "4x10." His dates of services are 1971-1977. During this time, he served as a sonar technician, PO3rd class.
Mylroie earned is BSC in Zoology from Syracuse University in 1971 and went on to earn his Ph.D. in Geology from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute in 1977. He has taught at Murray State University (1977-1985) and Mississippi State University (1985-2014; Professor Emeritus 2014).
