Content Description

This collection consists of four record cartons containing 450+ pieces of sheet music and music books. It includes sheet music from the 19th and 20th centuries, including popular music, beginner pieces, and religious/sacred pieces. Of interest is a copy of the NAACP's "Lift Every Voice and Sing" composed by J. Rosamond Johnson.

Arrangement

The sheet music in this collection is organized alphabetically by the composer's last name. When there were multiple pieces by the same composer they were organized chronologically in ascending order and then alphabetically by song name. In the cases of books that contained multiple composers, they were organized alphabetically by the last name of the person who compiled them.
