Biographical Note
Annie Norton made this quilt for her daughter Sarah Joel Chives who was the mother of [[Elmer?]] Joel Scott. This quilt was given to Mrs. Robert G. Jordan by the widow of Elmer J. Scott. Mrs. Jordan of 209 South Park Drive, Jackson, MS 39211 (Phone 601-956-470?) sold the quilt to Jane Johnston, 1510 Douglas Drive, Jackson, MS 39211 (601-982-3559) on April 26, 1979. It appeared in the book MISSISSIPPI QUILTS by Mary Elizabeth Johnson published in 2001 (p. 159). The quilt later transferred ownership to Betty J. Beck (date unknown), who donated the quilt to Mississippi State University Libraries in May 2022.
