Earl Southworth Williford Papers
Scope and Content
Papers of Earl Southworth Williford (1895-1932), native of Teoc, Carroll County, Mississippi, and Mississippi State University graduate, 1920. Collection relates to Williford's academic career and his World War I service as a lieutenant in Company H, 34th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division, United States Army. Included are correspondence, including letters to his family, 1918-1919, military records, artifacts, publications and photographs, 1904-1999 and undated. Williford's experience has been compiled into the book Earl Southworth Williford, An American Patriot (2004) by his son John Francis Williford/Burnum (1922-2005).
