Hoffmeister Family Collection
Scope and Content
Letters, postcards, receipts, photographs and other materials collected by Henry Emil Hoffmeister and his daughter, Edith Mays Cunningham and her husband, Delbert Cunningham of Columbus, Mississippi, as a result of their correspondence with Hoffmeister and Gaede family members in Cologne, Germany. Includes approximately 175 letters of Otto Gaede, Ruth Gaede Becker, Kathe Hoffmeister and Henny Hoffmeister Gaede. Some of the letters are in German. Topics include the activities of both families during World War II, post-war and later. Postcards depict scenes in Germany.
