This collection consists of fourteen boxes of correspondence, ephemera, photographs, and scrapbooks related to Ulysses S. Grant, Julia Dent Grant, their acquaintances, and family members. It is arranged in five series: Correspondence and Ephemera; Photographs, Scrapbooks, oversized, and Addition I. The first two series have additional Sub-Series that break the material down into specific types which are then arranged either chronologically or alphabetically by topic. Series V: Addition I contains materials donated by Grant family members in 2025. These materials came through the family of USG and JDG's youngest son Jesse R. Grant (Jr.).

Note

This album contains cabinet card photographs of the Grant Family's royal hosts on their World Tour. Most of the photographs are signed by Julia Grant and include inscriptions about the indiviual pictured written by Julia. Each photograph has been digitized and is in the MSU digital collection online.
