Bio/History Note: R.W. Harned was an entomologist at Mississippi State University from 1907-1930. In 1930, he left to become an entomology specialist with the United States Department of Agriculture, a position he held until his retirement in 1954. He died on April 22, 1968 in Washington, D.C., where he is interred.
