Scope and Contents
This collection contains legal documents, correspondence, and other papers from Abraham Lincoln and members of the Lincoln family. It spans from his life as a lawyer to his presidency, and continues after his death in 1865 with other written items from his family. The collection is split into five series. Series 1 contains legal documents from Abraham Lincoln's time practicing law, and Series 2 are all of his correspondences from 1852-1865. Series 3 and series 4 contain materials from the Lincoln family. All oversized materials are in Series 5.
