Robert Weir Hudson was born to Irby and Matilda Hudson in Noxubee County, Mississippi on the 31st of December, 1855. He married Mary Charles Jennings, referred to as Mollie, in 1882, and had 10 children: Irby Jennings Hudson (born July 30, 1883), Isla Bruce Hudson (born February 2, 1885), Charles Henley Hudson (born July 10, 1887), Mary Hudson (born November 8, 1889), Robert Weir Hudson (born February 12, 1892), Aubrey Slaughter Hudson (born April 13, 1896), Horace Seymour Hudson (born October 10, 1898), Doris Hudson (born March 27, 1901), Catherine Hudson (born November 3, 1902), and Lillian Hudson (born February 5, 1906).

Ann Stringfellow was born to Stanton and Judith Slaughter in Virginia, sometime in 1809. She married Robert Ritenhouse Stringfellow in 1830, and had 3 children: Robert Stanton (born n.d.), Martin Slaughter (born n.d.), and Benjamin Franklin Stringfellow (born sometime in 1840).
